CHAT ROOM SAFETY

  • Choose your nickname wisely.
  • Never say anything in a chat room you wouldn't say in public.
  • Don't give out personal information about yourself or others in a chat room.
  • The people you meet in a chat room are often not who or what they say they are.
  • Be suspicious if anyone tries hard to be your friend, especially if they try to turn you against your parents and other friends.
  • If you are ever uncomfortable, bullied or harassed online, get out immediately.
  • Be extremely cautious about meeting someone in person that you met online. Always discuss it with your parents.
